Interview with Dr. Julia Laemmerhirt, MD, Dermatologist in Vienna
Why did you choose to become a private doctor with your own office in Vienna?
I worked in a hospital for 7 years. During this time, I met a lot of people who had already searched “everywhere” for help with their skin problems, but had never found any real or satisfactory solutions. The patients weren’t aware that they were often getting the right diagnosis and the right treatment, because no one had ever made the effort to give them the right information – neither during check-ups nor treatment.
That’s why therapy is often cut short and people get the feeling that “nothing works”.
What does Skin Balance mean to you?
Some people only experience skin problems, and conventional forms of treatment work well and fast. However, the same problem can keep coming back, and that’s why it’s sometimes necessary to undergo ongoing treatment in order to get rid of the symptoms.
In this case, it’s worth taking a closer look to find out how the patient’s physical and psycho-mental balance has been upset. I want to help people find their balance again.
What can Skin Balance do for me?
- You will finally understand what your skin needs – which form of therapy and what type of care is right for you.
- You will learn which dietary products are good for your skin and which aren’t.
- You will find out how stress influences the condition of your skin and what measures you can take to improve this.
- You will find out how you can best support the body’s power to heal itself.
- You will get back in charge of your own health.
What sort of skin problems do you treat in your surgery?
- Acne
- Eczema
- Atopic Dermatitis
- Seborrhoic Eczema
- Dyshidrotic Eczema
- Perioral Dermatitis
- Rosacea
- Psoriasis
- Hair Loss
- and others
What type of people benefit the most from the treatments you offer?
The people who benefit the most from the treatments I offer are:
- ready to take responsibility for their own health.
- willing to co-operate and accept suggestions and make long-lasting changes.
- ready to get to know themselves better.
What type of people would not benefit so much from your treatments?
People who:
- expect to be spoon-fed a solution
- are die-hard skeptics
- who already know all the answers but change nothing. They will never get the results they want.
How quickly can I expect to see the results?
Depending on how severe the symptoms are, you can expect to see and feel marked improvements within a short time. Long-term improvements in our health do need time, however. We need a period of 4 to 6 months for our new skincare and lifestyle changes to take root and to let the skin regenerate itself. That’s when we can really celebrate results that you can see and feel.
